"...the life of kings." H.L Mencken
well it looks like i was wrong in my suspicion of McNulty dying. i really enjoyed the final episode of the wire. true to its premise of attempting to depict reality, even through the events of the series we see nothing change in the city of Baltimore. instead we see characters becoming various reincarnations of other characters.
Duquan seems to be set up to be Bubbles, Michael the new Omar, Sydnor to McNulty, Carver either Daniels or Colvin, etc. After the whole series Bubbles (being clean more than a year) gets redemption, while the many other characters as with the rest of the city just continue on.
well written, progressive, and unapologetic it's definitely one of the best shows to hit television completely deserving of the critical acclaim it's received.
