Fuck the Presidential election. I was just interested in voting no on prop 8, but I was actually pretty interested in a lot of the propositions going up. I'm pretty glad I registered back in SD in time, I also decided to go back to being an independent after being in the Republican party for a strange 4 years.

Prop 1A High Speed Train
Yes
Prop 2 Standards for Confining Farm Animals
Yes
We're going to be eating animals at least let their short time be somewhat humane, plus ever heard of Kobe beef? Meat tastes better when their allowed to at least sit down instead of stand all day and not move.
Prop 3 Childrens Hospital Bond Act
Yes
I really hope I don't have to explain this one
Prop 4 Waiting Period and Parental Notification before Termination of Minor's Pregnancy
No
Not everybody is lucky enough to have a sit-com family where you can hash out problems to some sappy soundtrack in the background, then everything will magically be okay until the next episode. It's not the state's job to enforce "morality" OR fix issues of communication within families. The only way to get approval of another relative is if parents/guardians are reported to the police or child services. Teens in a distressing situation need the advise of a counselor, not the government breathing down their neck.
Prop 5 Nonviolent Drug Offenses. Sentencing, Parole and Rehabilitation
Yes
While I'm a bit iffy on what they mean by "incarcerate 'certain' drug offenses," I'm hoping they mean only the violent ones. Prisons are meant for either violent crimes, and i really wish they put white collar crimes in their too, not folks just smoking a joint on the corner wanting to grab some munchies at the quickie mart when they're done. I don't believe in prohibition, nor do I like overcrowded prisons wasting tax dollars when a vast majority of those people can be earning money honestly. A little known fact is that prisons are overcrowded because they're used as slave labor by some manufacturers or even telemarketing companies.
Prop 6 Police Law Enforcement Funding. Criminal Penalties and Laws.
No
Adding new laws covering gang related offenses? Maybe it's from watching training day, or interactions with Irvine PD (work related); I don't trust cops.
Prop 7 Renewable Energy Generation
Yes
Nothing wrong with increased energy independence. The more self sustaining renewable energy, the less reliance on foreign oil the better.
Prop 8 ELIMINATES RIGHT OF SAME–SEX COUPLES TO MARRY
No
They call it that straight up. Eliminate rights? Sorry I believe in liberty and equal protection under the law. I don't think anyone is forcing anyone to marry someone of the same sex. And if Suzie wants to marry Cinderella at that young of an age, maybe that's telling you something about your daughter you didn't know, cause I don't remember being taught or influenced to like people of the opposite sex in grade school I don't think they're going to force your kid to be gay in school either. Very disgusted, but not surprised, my church decided to get involved with this. Jesus didn't say treat people differently, i think he taught us to love one another. Sure if a Church doesn't want to marry a gay couple fine, it's the Church's perrogative; but the government nope, equal protection under the law.
Prop 9 CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM. VICTIMS’ RIGHTS. PAROLE.
No
Increased spending on things that we already do.
Prop 10 ALTERNATIVE FUEL VEHICLES AND RENEWABLE ENERGY.
Yes
Prop 11 Redistricting
No
Reeks of voter disenfranchisement.
Prop 12 Veterans Bonds Act of 2008
Yes
CalVet is a lovely organization.
